The idea that intelligence declines with age was proved to
be a misconception some time ago by Cattell and Horn. In their pioneering
research into intelligence, they stated that there were two types of
intelligence and that one declines with age and the other doesn’t. Do your
research into these two types of intelligence to discover what they are, how
they compare and how to develop them. Then write an essay.
Note to the student: the reading material suggested needs to
be covered after the power point, the slides and the videos because it builds
on the basic facts and goes beyond them.
